Fellowship

Being a Christian community, we are called to as in Romans 15:7 "Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God."

The following is a description of our fellowship opportunities:

  • Sunday fellowship, in Nelson Hall at the end of the morning worship, offers coffee, a sweet treat and a chance to get to know one another.
  • A pancake dinner is held at 6:00 p.m. before worship on Ash Wednesday.
  • Easter breakfast held at 10:45 a.m. after the worship service on Easter Sunday.
  • Annual church picnic held the last Sunday in June after an outdoor worship service.
  • Rally Sunday with a pot luck meal held the first Sunday after Labor Day when we gather to learn about the planned church year.

  • Thanksgiving dinner offered to those who desire to share this special meal with others. Those attending share in providing the meal.
  • Faith Fun Night held the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m is an intergenerational event offering a kid friendly meal, activities and worship.
  • All-committee night, the second Tuesday of the month, begins at 6:30 p.m. with snacks and a chance for conversation before the committees separate to conduct their business.
  • Small groups that include Bible study, Women of the Cloth (quilting), book study, gardening, music and etc.
  • Santa Lucia Festival of Lights is an event held every three years the first Saturday in December that is open to the public and involves a breakfast of Swedish foods, a craft fair, bake shop and entertainment.
  • A service auction with a dinner is held every two years that involves donations of items and services provided by members of Southminster to raise funds for mission and other activities of the church.
  • Youth mission trip and adult mission trips offer fellowship while providing service to others.
  • Intergenerational events on Sundays during the learning hour offer fellowship between adults and children.
  • Pot luck meals and dinners occur during the church year and are open to all in the congregation as well as family and friends.
