Mission
Our vision is to foster activities and attitudes in our congregation that emphasize God's call to us to make a difference in the world through serving others and by reminding others of Gods offer of salvation through Jesus Christ. Here are some of the significant projects, activities, and relationships through which we share the compassion of Christ.
Local Ministries:

Whittier Elementary School
We have a partnership where Southminster members volunteer their time and treasures assisting in classrooms, weekly reading on Tuesdays with a student during the lunch hour [Readers Café] and helping with administrative projects. -
Adaptive Community Approach Program [ACAP]
ACAP's mission is to encourage people with disabilities to achieve their highest potential and acquire life-long skills which will enable them to become contributing and valued members of their communities. -

Provides emergency housing and related services to residents in transition with the basic needs of shelter, food, and personal support. -
Cooperating Congregations of Waukesha Co. [CCWC]
CCWC's mission is to provide an ecumenical ministry committed to serving people in need in Waukesha County. CCWC began offering a wide range of services to address the needs of food, clothing, housing, childcare and job training -
The Caring Place
Nonprofit community organization dedicated to promoting wellness and enhancing life for adults who require assistance in the activities of daily living. -
Richard's Place
Nonprofit organization committed to providing education and supportive services to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS -
Habitat for Humanity
Provides new or rehabilitated housing throughout the U.S. -
St. Joe's Medical & Dental Clinic
Dentist facility in Waukesha. -
The Salvation Army
Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and meet human needs [shelter, meals, clothing, counseling] in his name without discriminiation -
Waukesha Food Pantry
Recognizing that hunger exists in our community, the Food Pantry seeks and collects donations to provide groceries to Waukesha County individuals and families in need while respecting individual dignity. -
The Women's Center
A local non-profit organization that shelters women and children who are displaced because of violence in the home.

PAVA Foundation
Non-profit organization that works closely with rural communities to achieve long-term sustainable development through community-based projects and programs such as school, bridge and water system construction. -
Potter's House
Non-profit, non-governmental, evangelical Christian organization serving the scavenger families of the Guatemala City garbage dump. -
Bilwaskarma Medical Clinic
Medical mission in northeastern Nicaragua. Southminster member Pete Haupert spent 6 years [1968-74]as a surgeon and currently serves as an International Advisor for the Bilwaskarma Clinic and Outreach Program. -
Lorena's School
Rural school project in Nicaragua whereLorena Kamal started elementary, sewing and tailoring schools as a grass-roots effort to improve education and provide an opportunity to earn money from sewing. -
Church World Service
CWS is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry. -
PCUSA Special Offerings Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
PDA is the emergency and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. Ferncliff is a 10,000 sq ft Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) that works in cooperation with Church World Service (CWS) and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA).
